Mediation & Consulting
Mediation & Consulting
Some conversations are too important to wing and too tender for a lawyer’s office. This is relational mediation in Australia — not legal. I sit between people who care about each other, or used to, and help them speak honestly without the wheels coming off. Surrogacy mediation between intended parents and surrogates. Families holding an identity disclosure that’s been waiting years. Couples ending things without scorched earth. Most matters resolve in one to three sessions, on the Sunshine Coast or remotely Australia-wide. The aim isn’t a contract — it’s understanding clear enough that everyone leaves the room able to keep living their life.
How I work
Surrogacy mediation between intended parents, surrogates and families
Family identity disclosures: adoption, donor conception, late-found truth
End-of-relationship conversations held with structure and care

Any questions?
Is this legal mediation?
No. I'm not a lawyer and this isn't a legal process. It's relational mediation — focused on understanding, repair and clear agreements between people. If your matter needs legal mediation or a court-recognised outcome, I'll say so early and point you toward someone qualified for that work.
Can you mediate surrogacy arrangements?
Yes, and it's central to my practice. I've been a surrogate myself, so I understand the terrain from inside — expectations, grief, the awkward moments nobody warns you about. I work with intended parents, surrogates and extended family, before, during or after the arrangement.
What if one party won't engage?
Mediation only works when everyone chooses to be there. If someone is reluctant, I'll often have a quiet intake call with them first to understand why. Sometimes that's enough. If not, we don't proceed — and I'll suggest other ways forward that don't require their participation.
How long is each session?
Joint sessions are usually 90 minutes to two hours. Intakes are shorter, around 45 minutes each. I keep the pace deliberate — long enough to do real work, short enough that nobody leaves wrung out. Most people are surprised how much ground we cover when the structure is right.
Where do sessions happen?
Online via Zoom, or in person on the Sunshine Coast at Bokarina. For sensitive disclosures I sometimes recommend in-person. For interstate or international parties, online works well and removes a layer of logistical pressure that can otherwise distort the conversation before it begins.
